 "Silence ca pousse" is a French TV programme about gardening.

They aired a video about the waste-reducing and environmental actions carried out within the school.

How sustainable is my school?

3^rd Transnational Meeting

at

Europaschule Langerwehe in Langerwehe, Germany

from 11^th – to 14^th September 2019

Agenda Project Work:

1.   Programme / Germany

•        Explanation of the programme and visits (Aachen University, Research Centre Jülich)

•        Explanatory remarks /involvement of German students on Thursday (trip to Aachen / Kaffeetafel & visit to University)

•        Added visit: View on the brown coal mining pit

2.   Progress Project Activities Year 2

•        Each partner gives an overview of the activities accomplished in the second project year:

◦         France:

▪         Fruits / vegetable / flower garden

▪         Acquisition of goats and chicken /left-overs from the canteen / vegetation cut

(not possible though in the future because of hygienic rules)

▪         Organic food market

▪         Collection of:

•        Paper

•        Fruit peels

•        Bottle caps

▪         Video production about German "Give me a second chance"-sticker

▪         Installation of aerrators / taps

▪         Planning of

▪         Informing year 5 classes about paper recycling (Give me a second chance-Sticker)

▪         AWA sorting stall to learn the correct sorting of different plastics/glass recipients (ordering according to qualitites of sustainability)

▪         Conversion to reycling paper at the whole school

▪         Information campaign about notebooks, college blocks etc with recycling paper (label: Blauer Engel/Blue Angel), especially for parents of new year 5 students

▪         Lecture about Sustainability organised (open to sixth form students, parents, teachers and the public)

▪         Several attempts to realise moss graffiti

▪         Planing of

•        Information Tour through the classes of the new year 5 students (Sticker)

◦         Italy:

▪         Information of other students about recycling

▪         SAFE campaign sponsored by Scania / tree planting in Ethopia

▪         Monitoring of paper consumption of school

▪         Campaign to promote awareness concerning light pollution

▪         Plans:

•        other projects

◦         Poland:

▪         Work on biodiversity (compost, bees, school garden)

▪         Collection of bottle caps for charity project

▪         Collection of paper and batteries

▪         Distribution of stickers / posters to save water and energy

▪         Acquisition of visualiser to decrease paper consumption

▪         Preparation of mobility in Poland

▪         Cooperation w/ university of Brechow

▪         Products of recycling workshop exhibited and sold

3.   Outlook on Project Activities Year 3

•        Common activity for all project partners to be presented at the meeting in France:

◦         Video clip (news reel or commercial) dealing w/ "Promotion of recycled paper in school"

◦         Production of Project Poster (possibly in the form of photos + calendar?); every nation sends till the end of December 150 – 200 photos to the French Team which will be responsible for the production of the poster;

◦         Realization of a "green wall" (partners are encouraged to share project progression and results)

•        Possible project idea:

◦         Realization of solar panel shirt / rucksack (project idea put forward by Italian partner)

•        Suggestions / Purchases / Project Money:

◦         Laptop / memory sticks / Camera

◦         Calendars / Project Logo

◦         Sorting Containers for school

◦         Water dispenser for school

◦         Reusable water bottles / logo

◦         Plants (Green Wall)

◦         LED light bulbs for school building

◦         Faucet aereators to save water

◦         Solar panels

◦         Small wind wheel (charging of mobile phones)

4.   Meeting in France

•        Visit in France: 1^st - 7^th March 2020

◦         Programme planned:

◦         Visit of companies in connection w/ sustainability

◦         Workshops

◦         Exhibition (All project partners are asked to bring (at least) one product made during the three project time)

◦         Presentation of videos/exhibition to students, teachers, possibly parents

◦         Farewell Party

◦         Sightseeing

◦         Accomodation /Lunch:

▪         close to school (20-25€ per night; one-/two-/three-bed-rooms)

▪         Lunch at school canteen

5.   Miscellaneous

•        Discussion on / Ideas for realization of a new common project:

◦         Advice / French Agency:

▪         new partners form the East

▪         more quality

▪         smart system

◦         Topics:

▪         cultural heritage (food, institutions, music, traditions, transportation, history, communication, etc.)

▪         UNESCO World heritage sites (focusing on architecture?)

Romania - a European prize

Congratulations to Romania from all its partners !!!

=> Our college participated today to a National Contest called "Made for Europe", which proposes to:

- disseminate the results of the Erasmus projects,

- value the resulting products,

- increase the visibility of products.

Our project, "How sustainable is my school?" has won 3rd place. 

The prize will take place over 3 weeks.
